How should the heat exchanger be connected?

The heat exchanger should be connected in counter-flow, this ensures that optimal performance can be achieved. Further information can be found in the relevant manual.

In which position should the heat exchanger be fitted?

The heat exchanger is best fitted vertically, this helps reduce air and dirt being trapped. Further information can be found in the relevant manual.

Which gasket materials should I use?

This depends on the medium and temperatures in the heat exchanger. For advice please contact UNEX technical support.

Does the air need to be specially vented from the heat exchanger?

Is the guarantee still valid once the heat exchanger has been built into a system?

The guarantee is valid, as long as the heat exchanger has been fitted, used and serviced according to the relevant fitting, operations and service manual.

How can I clean my heat exchanger?

Your heat exchanger can be cleaned using a special detergents, compatibles with materials and type of fouling. Please apply to UNEX for details

Can I weld anything to my heat exchanger?

Welding and other similar processes create very high temperatures, which can damage gaskets and structure within the heat exchanger. Any work undertaken would invalidate the guarantee.

Do I need to fit a mounting bracket, or will the connections support the heat exchanger?

It is recommended to use mounting brackets. Additional load on the connections can lead to premature wear and will invalidate the guarantee.

Does the heat exchanger really need insulation?

Depending on the operating temperature, insulation prevents heat loss from the heat exchanger and prevents the risk of injury through burns.
